Google acts as the neighborhood bully

If you visited our site since last Wednesday, you might have received an alarming message:

The site ahead contains harmful programs

Attackers on www.babylon-software.com might attempt to trick you into installing programs that harm your browsing experience (for example, by changing your homepage or showing extra ads on sites you visit). Learn more

This statement is 100% false and comes in courtesy of ‘Google Safe Browsing’.

The Babylon Software is safe

Starting October of 2014, when the translation software changed hands – the developers have stripped the software from any search properties, toolbars and / or any other offers it might have had in the past.

The software installs the required files and components for it to load and provide the user with the famous ‘Babylon Click’ – click on any word that appears on your screen to have it translated instantly!

Why would Google flag Babylon?

That is the same question running through our minds since last Wednesday when we were first notified about it.

Since then we have made many attempts to contact Google through the channels they have made available for such cases, but they do not care for anything that we write.

Google has received and processed your security review request. Unfortunately, our systems still indicate that URLs on https://www.babylon-software.com/ contain content that can harm visitors.

Is Babylon alone?

No, Babylon is simply one of many software developers that are wrongfully accused by Google in taking actions that might hurt the users.

If you will go through Google’s forums you will find many more that are writing to Google in frustration, after they see their life’s work being trashed and blocked by Google.

Google acts as the Judge, Jury and Executioner and decides the fate of companies all around the world.

What’s next?

We keep on trying to reach out to Google in order to resolve this issue, and hope that they will do a manual check on our software, to find out that it does nothing of what it is being accused of.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to you by these “fake news” and hope to be back soon, providing you with the best solution for your translation needs!
